Our 10 favorite spots to watch football in St. Louis

St. Louis is a sports city through and through, so it makes sense that we have plenty of all-star football-watching venues. This curated guide for football lovers will take you through some old favorites you probably know and love, along with some hidden gems you might not expect.

This sports-watching venue is a hotspot for sports enthusiasts, albeit usually Cards fans, since it’s located within Ballpark Village. But Bally Sports Live! still makes for a great place to watch a football game, if only for the massive 40-foot LED screen located under a 100-foot retractable glass roof. On top of that, you have your pick of several bars and restaurants inside the venue, offering beer and bar food like wings, loaded tots, tacos and burgers.

If you’ve taken a trip down Gravois Avenue lately, you've likely seen the huge white sign reading “$1.25 BEER” atop a neon light-outfitted bar. This advert belongs to DB Cooper’s Safe House, an open-air, Key West-inspired watering hole. It’s a neighborhood bar to the max; you’ll find the place packed full of friends watching the game together on Thursday and Sunday nights. The streamlined menu includes bar classics like burgers, wings, pizza and Philly cheesesteaks. Take note that DB Cooper’s is cash-only, though they do have an ATM onsite.

Duke's Cajun-inspired menu offers gumbo, seafood and po’boys along with bar staples like burgers, pizza and wings. If you want to go all out, the upstairs bar is available to rent out for football watch-parties.

Dining at Lester’s Sports Bar & Grill might strike you as more akin to being in a sports club due to the upscale ambience of the massive restaurant. The handcrafted menu offers New York-style deli sandwiches, extensive apps and tender baby-back ribs, which are smoked for four-and-a-half hours. The bar has dozens of TVs, including outside on the brick-lined patio, and it makes sure to specify that it’s a family-friendly locale.

Nick’s Pub’s claim to fame is, without a doubt, the outrageous number of beers it has on tap: 101. This alone would make it a special spot to catch the game, but Nick's also offers a patio, game room and 30 TVs spread around the expansive interior. Don’t sleep on the pub's food menu, which consists of burgers, apps and Irish dishes. Nick's has some of the best daily and weekly specials in the city. It’s open until 3 a.m., so you're covered if the game goes into overtime (or you want a place to celebrate afterwards). Note that Nick's opens at 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

This sports bar and grill has been family-owned for four decades, serving as a haven for sports lovers to enjoy food, beer and whatever game is on. Although it’s hailed as St. Louis' best hockey bar, O’B Clark's 17 flat screens and two big screens are guaranteed to be showing football games (plus baseball and soccer). If you’re lucky, you might even catch a pro-athlete sighting here. Its central location in Brentwood makes O'B Clark's a good place to meet up with friends, whether you live in the city or the county. Don’t miss the pizzas, which O’B’s totes as “legendary.”

Located in Spruce Street's bar district, The Midwestern promotes itself as downtown St. Louis' sports bar. Its 20-plus TVs and elevated food menu mean we're inclined to agree. With dishes like brisket cheesesteak, a spicy vegetarian wrap, buffalo pulled pork dip and a funky list of signature craft cocktails, this is a sports bar designed for decompressing with a group of friends.
